Photo ci-dessus : cathédrale de Tournai Belgique, avec ses cinq clochers mais quatre sans cloches (ne croyez pas les Tournaisiens quand ils vous disent "quatre-cents cloches"). The picture above shows the cathedral of Tournai/Belgium, with its five towers but four without bells (don't believe the inhabitants of the town when they afford : five towers and "four hundred bells")
Explanation for our English speaking friends : the French expressions "quatre sans cloches" and "quatre-cents cloches" have the same pronounciation in French. The first expression (four without bells) is the reality. The second one (four hundred bells) is of course a joke….
